Frequently asked questions

What Signeret records and what remains separate.

What does the agreement record?+

The parties, item, observed condition, disclosures, price, payment and handover promises.

Does it complete the official transfer?+

No. The agreement does not submit the NCO or RLV forms, change the registered titleholder or owner, license the vehicle, or transfer a registered vessel. Complete the current provincial registering-authority and relevant maritime steps separately.

Can we sign electronically?+

The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act generally recognises electronic records and signatures for ordinary agreements. Where another law requires a signature, an advanced electronic signature or another prescribed method may be required; official forms and registration acts remain separate.

Does Signeret verify ownership?+

No. Compare identity, authority, identifiers, registration, finance and other available evidence independently.

Which items are supported?+

Cars, motorcycles, trailers, caravans, boats, mopeds or scooters, and collectibles.

Is the service free?+

Yes. PDF download and the current digital-signing flow cost zero.

Can I add photos?+

Yes. Add relevant photos with permission and avoid unnecessary identity documents or sensitive material.

What consumer rules apply?+

A genuine once-off private sale is not the same as a supplier-to-consumer transaction. Mandatory consumer rules can apply where a seller acts in the ordinary course of business, regardless of the label used.
